This stool has been designed by Rud Thygesen &Johnny Sørensen in 1981 and is still in production today, albeit not in this color combination.
This version is made of molded/pressed beech veneer and has a very strong and light construction with a painted black seat.
The stool has been refinished with hardwax oil and shows small signs of use and patina. The original finish is lacquer and appears more glossy. The hardwax oil has the advantage that it can easily be removed and another finish can be applied to match e.g. an existing set with original finish. Besides refinishing the stool, it has also been bleached to remove small areas with water damage.
A small and very charming stool with a classic color combination which can be difficult to obtain today.
